Video Transcript for PTC Custom Fit Charcoal Cabin Air Filter Installation - 2016 Toyota Highlander

Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby. Today we're taking a look at the PTC custom fit air cabin filter here on our 2016 Toyota Highlander. Now, this can be an excellent way of saving yourself a little bit of money when you are getting your vehicle serviced anywhere. And if you are having a lot of allergies or just find yourself not really enjoying the air quality that's coming in the inside of your vehicle, this can be a great way of reducing a lot of that debris that might have been building up over the time that you've had your filter inside the vehicle.

So let's go ahead and hop in and see how we get this installed. So to come onto our passenger side of our vehicle, pop open our glove box, of course remove all of your items. First things first, let's go ahead and remove that damper rod on the side here with the quick push out to the side, it's going to go ahead and release itself there. And then we just want to push in on either side of these plastics here. It's going to go ahead and bring in our tabs, allowing us to bring down our glove box so you could pull it out all the way.

It's going to want to do. And just set it off to the side. And then there's going to be these little plastic top tabs up on here on this plate. We're just gonna pop them and bring it down on the inside here. You're going to see this little plastic door that's actually covering it.

And I just have to pop open these tabs and that exposes our air filter that's currently in there. There are things to take note of here. We want to make sure we are watching that air flow. So let me go ahead and check this after I pull it out. So as I remove this, I can see that our airflow is going up, so, I just want to make sure we are taking note of that when we go to reinserting a new one, but taking a look, you can see just how dirty this guy is starting to get here.

I think this was just a white media particulate, so you can see lot of buildup in here, not too much like actual hardcore debris. You've seen a little bit of leaves and stuff. Now this really will depend on how long you've had your filter in there. But as you guys can see here is our new carbon filter. So very clear on the inside. Of course, no debris buildup. This has been here in our warehouse and that gray charcoal is just to add a little bit of filtration to make sure that air quality is going to be high. So let's make sure our airflow is going the same way as what we removed. And we just reinsert. Well, to get it all closed up, we just have to kind of go backwards in that process to get it installed. And then we all have it all hooked up nicely for ourselves. Again, this can be a great way of really reducing those allergens that you might be having in the car. And of course, it's a quick little way to save you some money when you are getting your vehicle serviced. Well, I think that about does it for our look at the PTC custom fit cabin air filter here on our 2016 Toyota Highlander. I'm Bobby, thank you for watching..

All products came together in one package. Shipping time was fair. As always, etrailer was great for getting exactly what I needed.

Shipping cost is poo; added the items I needed for my car to negate that mess.

Very fast delivery! Excellent products and all installed into the camper! The blocks are very compact and easy to carry. I like that I can use them for my rear duals without making two stacks. Quality filter and the new faucet was an easy install. Works like a dream! Now all my faucets are single handle! Great pricing. Buy here.

While the Filter seems acceptable, the [online] video etrailer has on-line showing how to DIY install/replace and access the filter is incomplete and a bad source of how to do it. In it, the information on a simple procedure like removing the glove box to get at the filter housing completely neglects to tell an Acadia owner it is necessary to easily disconnect the left-side of the glove box from the swivel restraint which takes two seconds. That earned the one star review and caused me to finally source other, complete and accurate [online] videos on how to do it.
