What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this tailor-made hole guard. So it's gonna be a fender or a boat bumper, whichever one you wanna call it. And what you're gonna do is tie it off to your rail, drop between the boat and the dock, and it keeps both of them protected when they come together. Let's check it out. Our fender, the hole guard, is gonna be good for boats of 15 to 20 feet long.
So our pontoon boat's gonna work great with it today. And it's gonna work really well if you're either docked or even if you're mooring next to another boat. Taking a closer look at our fender, it's gonna have two eyelets on each side. So that's gonna help you with different mounting options. They're also very sturdy eyelets too.
So it doesn't seem like it's just one piece of vinyl that's easily gonna get ripped off. You can see, I can pull on it and try and break it, and it's not showing any signs of wear and tear. And that's gonna be on both of these here. So I do like that. Up top, this is where you're gonna add more air.
So if you have an air pump with the attachment for a soccer ball or basketball, it's gonna work great with airing this one back up. It's gonna be made out of a marine grade vinyl. So when you leave it on the side of your boat, leave it in the water, you're not gonna have to worry about it deteriorating or damaging over time. Now there are different sizes. The one that we're using with the pontoon boat today is gonna be 20 inches long.
It's gonna have a 5 1/2 inch diameter. I have another size here that we offer, and this one's gonna be 16 inches long with a 4 1/2 inch diameter. There's another way you can set up your fender. You can see that it's gonna be horizontal with the deck of your boat. But it's not gonna work in our instance because the dock is a little bit lower than that, and it's not gonna get that protection we want from it. But if it matches your dock, and you'd want it this way, it will travel less back and forth. So you won't have to worry about it moving as much. It'll always be right here where you want it. Just not gonna work like that for us today. To get our fender installed, it's pretty simple. Now it doesn't come with rope, so you'll have to have your own. So I have one leftover from an old fender. So we're just gonna reuse that and come through the eyelet with our rope, run that through. Now this rope that I happen to have has a loop at the end here. Just gonna run that back through so I don't have to tie knot on the fender side. Keep the boat from hitting the dock until we get this installed. Now we're gonna want it right about there. So there's plenty of room up and down just in case the water rises or the dock lowers, one or the other. You don't know what's gonna happen if a boat comes by or a storm. So we want it to be right there in the middle. That way, it's protected whatever happens. We're coming to the eyelet on the boat side. Run our rope through, push out just a little bit just so you can see where it's sitting. I think we can go up a little bit more. I think right there should be good. And I'll tie it off here on the boat side. I'm gonna take our extra and wrap that around the bar too to also help with it and because I don't wanna cut the rope just in case I need to adjust it. Once you got the fender in the right spot and you're not gonna have to adjust it, you can go ahead and cut the rope to length. But since we're doing this for demonstration purposes, I'm not gonna cut the rope. Overall, it's a great addition to your boat. You definitely need it if you're gonna leave it docked. And you never know what gonna happen with the water. If it's a storm or just a lot of boats going by one day, you don't want this slamming into your dock and damaging either your boat or the dock. So it's gonna be a good cushion in between them. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helps..
