Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the BOLT Covered Padlock with the two inch shackle for the Jeep Center Cut Keys. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the Jeep and Ram ProMaster vehicles that uses the center cut key design. Now, this is a heavy duty padlock which can serve multiple uses, you can secure equipment to a rack or a truck bed to prevent any theft, you could lock a bike to a bike rack, or even a bike rack to a car, and you can protect your camping gear when you're away from your camp. Basically, this lock will use your vehicle's ignition key, so you always have the right key with you, there's no extra keys that you have to carry. Basically, what you'll do is remove the sticker, insert your ignition key into the bolt cylinder, turn the key once, and then the lock is permanently coded to your key.
Now, one note I do wanna mention, the BOLT locks will permanently code to only one vehicle, they cannot be recoded or rekeyed. It does use a 6-plate tumbler sidebar to prevent any picking or bumping, and it is an automotive quality lock, which is durable and weatherproof, uses a cast iron cylinder to give you superior corrosion resistance, uses a stainless steel lock shutter to keep out dirt and moisture from the lock cylinder, and it gives you a nice, durable, easy grip hard rubber casing, which will protect the lock, and it has a nice attached hard rubber dust cover to protect your locks face. It is a chrome-plated hardened 5/16 of inch diameter steel shackle, and a crush resistant body shell to prevent theft, and the shackle does attach to the lock body with double ball-bearing locking mechanism, so it will lock automatically when the key is removed. A few specs on this, we mentioned it is a two inch shackle link, and that's gonna to be the measurement from the inside right here. So if we put a ruler on it, you'll get a two inch shackle length, and the width is gonna be right at one inch.
But that should do it for the review on this BOLT Covered Padlock with the two inch shackle for your Jeep Center Cut Key..

This heavy-duty padlock codes to your vehicle's ignition key. Made of automotive-grade materials and nearly impossible to pick or bump, this corrosion-resistant lock helps keep your trailer and equipment safe and secure. This was the 2nd lock I bought. They are fit different years of Wranglers. Both work excellently. This one seemed to be a bit harder for me to get right. I know too poor the key in and turn clockwise. However my key stopped well short of a quarter turn. Then it just kept turned like it was free wheeling. Eventually about 20 secs later I got it correct, it was all me, now it works perfectly as it should. I use these to lock a storage shed, I hate having to carry extra keys with me. I sold the other wrangler and needed a new lock. Couldn't wait fir it to arrive.
I have seven locks I use in my Jeep, trailer hitch and Turtleback trailer. One in my Jeep I use to secure a lock box for a Glock; two-four secure my max-coupler articulating hitch; and five-seven are on my overland trailer (Turtleback Getaway).
Obviously all are keyed to my Rubicon fob.
Convenient, heavy duty locks.
I have both the bolt lock padlock and the bolt lock hood lock on my Jeep. They both work great and have had trouble free use. I highly recommend them.
