Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar for the Chevrolet and GMC vans. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2023 and newer Chevrolet Express and the GMC Savana 4500 vans. Now, this rear anti-sway bar will minimize side to side movement, improves overall stability of your vehicle. It'll let you execute turns and quick maneuvers with confidence.
Allows for a nice level ride even on irregular surfaces, and it even reduces driver fatigue, 'cause it'll minimize the effort that's required to keep your vehicle in line. Now, this part will include everything shown here on the table. It includes the anti-sway bar, all the black powder coated mounting brackets, right here we have the zinc-plated mounting hardware, even gives you some bushing lubricant, and a nice set of easy to follow instructions. Now, this kit is made with polyurethane bushings. And the polyurethane bushings are used instead of standard rubber variety, it gives you a lot longer-lasting system.
Basically, the polyurethane is durable and resistant to damage that can be caused by oil, gas, and ozone. And of course, less wear will mean less give in the system and better support. Also, normally, when polyurethane bushings are used on sway bars, the grease that's used on the installation will dry out over time, and the bushings might start to squeak. But what Hellwig decided to do is they did a different finish on their sway bar. If I lift this up, you look closely, it has a silver vein hammer tone finish on the sway bar.
What that does is it has small divots in the finish, and that'll help keep the grease in the bushings and keep the polyurethane bushings' grease to eliminate any chance of noise. Now, this bar is constructed of a thick 4140 chromoly steel for superior strength. The diameter on the sway bar is 1 3/8 inches. Now, this is designed to fit your vehicle and work in conjunction with its suspension system. Basically, it attaches to your rear axle and to the chassis, and it uses the weight of that axle to brace your frame as it shifts and turns.
