Hello neighbors and friends. Welcome back, I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this nice gear crate for your Yakima Mod Storage Systems. Now, if you're not familiar with Modular Storage System, is this that a modular in vehicle storage system. It's gonna consist of drawer boxes, some accessories, some boxes like this possibly and some foldable boxes and things as well. And it's pretty much designed to keep, you know, campers, that kind of stuff.

People that are camping, they store their gear in the rear cargo area. Maybe you're a mom or dad going grocery shopping. You want to keep stuff from sliding around, you got tools, whatever. You just want to keep it in a nice space and you wanna keep it from sliding around. That's what the mod system's for, and that's also what this gear crates gonna do for you.

So this gear crate will attach to that mod system. Again, the mod system is sold separately. It's gonna provide nice space, extra gear, space and organization. Now I wanna show you here on the backside here, there's a little plastic clip and I'll zoom in on that later, but that's gonna be a mounting point for this guy here that comes with it. That'll mount to the mod system and spin it around the other side.

You got this nice strap and it also has a nice plastic anchor point that anchors onto this guy here whenever it's installed. And again, I'll show you that closer here in a second as well. So it does have nice handles all the way around, two on the sides one on the front and back. So it's a very nice versatile box. It does have a very nice hard thermal form lid that's gonna ensure reliable protection for your gear that's inside of here.

It also, if you notice, has these elastic bands on top. So maybe you wanna slide something in from the side, maybe a roll of blueprints or something, I don't know, whatever you wanna put in here. If you can put it inside of here safely and it's not sticking out too far, you can put it on there and keep it there. Now a nice feature with this lid is on all four corners here, you've got that elastic strap as well, or that band. And you can see it's got a nice pull tab here on it. It's gonna match up with this nice molded plastic here. And let me zoom in for that real quick. So again, you got a nice plastic anchor point here that's simply elastic over that and that's how you undo it. You got the other side and you got one on each corner of this lid. So again, a nice thermal form lid, heavy duty. It's really made really robust actually, it's very nice. And again, those elastic bands on top, that kind of stuff. So that's the lid. Again, you got four straps all the way around the sides here. It's actually a two piece of hard plastic, one on the inside, one on the outside. They kind of sandwich together and it's a very, very nice hold on the box. You get all the hardware as well. Now I'm gonna show you a top view here just to kind of give you a visual of what all can kind of fit in this box. So I packed it up earlier, I threw some gear in here and let's see what I was able to fit. So pretty big box, you can kind of see by my hand how big that guy is. I got my reading material here and I also was able to fit in the mod micro tote system by Yakima. That's sold separately. So those guys fold up flat, they're in there. I got a ball that I threw in there for towing the trailer. And oh, there's my ruler. I was wondering where that guy went. So I got my ruler and again, I got this nice box. I'm gonna switch to the front view here again. So you kind of see just how big this box is that I'm pulling outta here. So pretty decent sized box to fit inside of this box as well, just to kinda give you a size there. Now flipping on the inside here, you can kind of see this divider. It has what's called hook and loop. You can see that there on the bottom. There's one there, there's another strap there. You can take this hook and loop divider and you can remove it. And then you can simply put it in one of two locations wherever you want inside the box, again, one of those two locations here and here. And basically you got one that's like a mid, and then this would be like a third. So bigger spot over here, smaller over here, however you want to do it. And again, that just simply hook and loops back in place. Then you can pack all your gear back inside, Put my ruler back in there, put the ball back, and then again the lid simply goes on top again. You got four straps on each corner goes over. You simply pull those down again, they're elastic or stretchable. They go right into place, all four corners. And then boom, you pick your box up and go on your way or put it inside and store it. So folks, I went over a lot of information here as far as some dimensions. The whole box is 20 inches long. It's about 16 inches wide on the width here. And it is 11 inches tall, give or take. Just have a nice limited lifetime warranty. And again, pretty impressed with this box. Again, you could stack stuff on top of it as well. Again, you got the elastic up here to store some extra stuff.
