Today we are going to show you how to install the Rearview Mirror Adhesive from Loctite part number LT37438. The first thing you want to do is locate the mounting area where the mirror was and then take a marker or a crayon and circle that area on the windshield so we know where to readhere the mirror once we get the adhesive on. With that marked we can go back in and we want to clean the remaining adhesive off the inside of the window. We just want to make sure we wipe that clean with an alcohol cloth or paper towel. We not only want to do this on the windshield but we also want to do it to the button of the rearview mirror itself. 00:35
Next we will move on to our rearview mirror and what we want to do is locate the button that was adhered to the windshield and we need to get this removed from the rearview mirror. On this particular one there is a set screw on the inside here and loosen that up and the button will slide out the back side. Next take the components of the Loctite kit and remove them from the package. We have got the adhesive here and then we have got our activator ampule here. We are going to start by applying the activator onto not only the button but the windshield. You can see this has got a paper sleeve on it, if you remove that you can see there is a tip and the activator itself is inside a vile inside this plastic tube. I am going to put the paper cover back on and we are going to squeeze the vile until it breaks. 01:32
Once it is broken we can remove the paper cover and you can apply the activator. You want to thoroughly apply this to not only the button but also to the area on the windshield where the rearview mirror is going to reapplied. After the activator has cured for five minutes we can take the adhesive and cut the cap off right at the indentation here. If you flip the cap over there is that tip inside there that if we take and put that over the tube of the adhesive that will help to puncture the hole. When you go to apply the adhesive you need to do it quickly as soon as it gets you want to adhere it to the windshield. Hold that in place for about a minute to make sure it is secure then we need to let it sit and pure for about another 15 minutes before we come back and reinstall the rearview mirror. Now that we have let the adhesive fully cure we can reinstall our rearview mirror. What I am going to do is take the rearview mirror and slide the button inside the track where it was previously and then we will retighten the set screw. With that back on all you need to do is on this particular model we are going to plug the electronics back in. With the electronic port plugged back in our installation is complete. With that, that will conclude the review of part number LT37438 the Rearview Mirror Adhesive from Loctite.

This adhesive allows anyone to reattach a broken rearview mirror to an automotive windshield, creating a permanent repair easily, safely and economically. So far. so good. I have had a terrible time keeping review mirrors attached to my windshield. I have tried about every brand out there and they have all failed within 2-4 months. This product seems to be working as of now.
A little confusing to use so I improvis ed.
I tried several different products and methods to reattach my rearview mirror and they all failed. I finally read a piece of advice from someone who worked in a dealership service dept., who recommended this Loctite kit.
After one full year and the hot Maryland summer, my mirror is still securely attached. Highly recommended!

After two years, the bond failed during the heat of summer. I bought another Loctite kit from E Trailer and it got me through the rest of the summer and now into the fall. Still seems the best option for reattaching rearview mirrors.

The bond on my second Loctite kit failed during the first really hot day of summer 10 months later. It seems to me that once the original factory seal has failed, the windshield substrate doesnt take new adhesives as well. That said, the Loctite kit has outperformed all the others Ive tried.
I have a boat with glass hatches and the latches were not through bolted in the glass like all others are. The hatch handle/latches keep coming off. So I am going to try this.
E trailer saved me about $350 on my class 5 hitch that was needed to tow my 32' boat. They had all I needed and were quality and lower prices.
I tried another adhesive product that did not keep my rearview mirror attached. It lasted only a day. This product is excellent and was easier to use. Though it's only been about 10 days I'd say it looks like it will be a long-lasting adhesive.
Thank you to etrailer.com for the information about the problem exactly matching the product, a great price, delivery was as promised, and they even followed-up to ensure I received my order. All-in-all I will definitely order from them again if needed.
I had a terrible problem to find a glue that would attach to my rear view mirror of my car. This was the one. I am very pleased with this product. Thanks for having this.

It fell off. I was told I needed a medal button instead of plastic. Therefore I FINALLY found a medal button. The company attached the mirror. I think gluing plastic to glass will not eork. Has to be medal to glass. Good luck to those that are looking for medal buttons. They are hard to find. I didnt have any more loctite there fore I cannot say for sure it will hold plastic to glass. Sorry
Be sure to watch the video BEFORE attempting use. VERY HELPFUL and instructive. Be sure to pay attention to the temperature when using this product. Had a hard time with other products and mirror with rear view camera was just too heavy and the heat in Oklahoma was/is high in summer. Re-installed the mirror following the video online and it's still on and I believe this is the glue to use.
There are many products that claim to be made for reattaching mirrors. This is the only one that stands up to the blazing Sun and temperatures of Florida.
etrailer.com is a pleasure with which to deal.
I have tried several of the off the shelf brands of rear view mirror adhesive available at my local auto parts stores only to have my mirror fall off after a couple of weeks. No More! The two part adhesive from Loctite worked like a champ!
Excellent Buying Experience: The item was delivered in a timely fashion at a very competitive price.
Excellent Product: Used 2 other supposedly "Perma"-nent products with poor results. Loctite product adhered mirror to window permanently.

Still working perfectly! It may be worth mentioning that, in order to assure a perfect bond, the windscreen needs to be completely clean. The only way to truly remove all residue from the glass is to use a metal steel, brass, scouring pad to lightly etch off any deposits. After scouring, use alcohol to finish the cleaning. The adhesive will now have the best performance possible.
Will be attempting to reattach the mirror using this product tomorrow, Other products I have tried have not worked. Hopefully this will perform better, Loctite always makes good products. Order shipped quickly. Thank you

The mirror has stayed in-place since July of 2014...it is now January 2016.I wouldnt want to h ang anything heavy on it and when i adjust the mirror, I use 2 hands to support the connection to the glass, but it has stayed on.
Product was worthless, I followed the instructions exactly with no positive results.
Product worked like a charm. Super easy to use and holds strong.

Lasted about 10 months until the mirror fell off. Fail.
I ordered l loctite mirror repair and when I received it it had been damaged in transit. I called SUNDAY AFTERNOON and Carol answered on the second ring and immediately reshipped the item to me. these people obviously care about their customers. That's a quality that's hard to find in a company these days. I highly recommend shopping here.
Worked fine. Excellent product.
Very satisfied with product.
Thanks

It has now been one year and the mirror is still attached. I also changed the way I place my sunscreen when parked. That may have helped since the mirror doesn't get as hot.
