Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at this T-Nut Kit for your Kuat Ibex. Now, it's gonna come in a pack of the 16 T-nuts, and they're gonna have a couple of different uses around your Ibex. Let's check them out. Now, the very first use is as just a simple replacement part.
This is the hardware they use all throughout for all their accessories, but then also for just the rack itself to get these crossbars assembled, and things like that. So if one of yours has become missing or damaged, this kit can help you replace them, and it gives you more than enough to replace maybe a few damaged ones throughout the rack if you have them. Now, the next (indistinct), just mounting additional accessories, because these will obviously fit in the channels just fine, whether they're be side channels, or on top or bottom of the crossbars. Maybe if you wanted to mount up some off-road lights or a light bar to the back or the top, then this would be a great way to attach that channel and make sure that it's mounted solid. And then if you have the MOLLIE panel attachment, this inner part here will line up perfectly with these long thin strips on the MOLLIE panel.
So again, if you wanted to mount up something to the MOLLIE panel, this is going to be the way to do that and make sure that it's stable, acting as a sort of backing plate to these specific slots all throughout. Now, whether you're mounting this with the top channels or the MOLLIE panel, you do need to know what hardware to pair this with, because this is just the nut. You're gonna need a bolt or a screw to go with it. It's gonna use M8 hardware with a one and a quarter thread pitch. So just make sure you pick up the right hardware at the hardware store, and you should be able to take whatever you're trying to mount and get it solidly attached to those T-nuts.
And that's all there is to it. 16 of these might seem a little bit excessive, but if you're mounting anything up custom, it's gonna give you more than enough to work with. And I just like when brands make their stuff compatible with standard hardware. I can go to the hardware store, get those M8 bolts, and be able to custom mount accessories on the Ibex, according to what I need. I don't just have to use Kuat's accessories.
And if I do choose to use some of their accessories, like, say, their bottle opener, or that grab handle back behind me, and something goes wrong and I need to replace a part, then this will work just fine too. So that's where the all there is to it. It's gonna be a really simple thing to have on hand, whether you're looking to replace some broken pieces, or just add to your Ibex and build it out to your needs. Thanks for watching.
