Hi everyone. It's me, Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the Hollywood Racks replacement knob and bolt for your wheel holder, for your Hollywood racks sport rider bike rack, here at etrailer. So the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider bike rack has this wheel adjustment knob. And this allows you to move the trays back and forth, to accommodate bikes of different wheel bases. Now, what may happen is you actually may rotate this far enough where it comes off completely, or this can be damages after a long period of wear and tear.
So what happens in is you're going to have to replace it. So this comes with a knob, a bolt, and a washer. As I replace this part right over here. Now, before you go ordering this, please make sure that you need the correct parts. Let's say if your cradle is broken, or if you have stripped the bolt on the inside, you're getting either to replace the entire cradle.
You can check out all those parts here in etrailer. The bolt itself is two and 13/16 long. The threaded portion is about an inch long. But once you have confirmed that it is this knob that needs replacing, the replacement process is pretty simple. So let's take a look at that.
First, you need to remove this knob. So what you need to do is make sure that the bolt on the bottom is flushed with the integrated nut underneath the cradle. So once that is in place, you can then twist this knob to loosen it. You got the knob out of the way, and then take off this split washer, and then push this bolt out through the bottom. But I like to do is just put the knob right on top, just enough to push it down.
And then there, you can pull it through. Then you're going to get your replacement hardware, and do the exact same process, but in reverse. I'm going to do it in real time, so you can see how quick and easy it is. To get your bolt up there, make sure it's aligned, so it pushes through. Put that split washer on top, and then tighten that knob down. And once that's tightened, that's it for the install. My final thoughts about these replacement parts is that I do like how it is a quick and easy process to replace them. Really the hardest part about replacing them is figuring out which parts you need, and making sure you have the correct bike rack. Hollywood racks has a bunch of different bike racks, and their sport rider editions come in different shapes and different sizes. So make sure you have the right part number, and then the right part. Once that's it, you can then get your bike back on your own. I bought these wheel holder knobs to replace the original devices that came on my bike rack which had deteriorated beyond use. These knobs are WONDERFUL and allow me to keep my bikes secure and safe while traveling. I wish the original bike rack had come with such great knobs. A really great purchase.

It's an ok product, after a few months, the nut that keeps tension on the sliding pole to keep my bike on the rack broke, causing my bike to fall off my rack while driving 65-70 mph on a highway, damaging my saddle, handle bar, handle bar grips & pedals, I would not recommend this product to anyone.
My bike rack was discontinued, but etrailer still had a compatible part to fit. This was better than the original because the bolt was coated for rust protection and it had a lock washer that eliminated over tightening damage to the knob (knob would break free of the nut). Great solution!

I really like the bike rack. Works well for all our different bikes. The other styles required extra bars etc to hang them. This one is great for my wife and daughter to use as well. Great product!!!
