Video Transcript for Curt Ball Mounts C45800 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number C45800. This is the replacement tri-ball for the Curt adjustable ball mount. The adjustable ball mount is part number D900 here at etrailer.com. This is going to be a welded steel construction. It's an exact replacement. The shank is solid steel, the hitch balls are steel.

The hitch balls are going to have a chrome finish on them. The shank is going to have a black powder coat finish on it, so it's all going to resist rust and corrosion really well. You're going to have your 1 7/8" ball, your 2" ball, and your 2 5/16" ball. Now with this part number this is what you're going to get, so no additional pins or clips are included so you will need to use the original pins and clips that came with the adjustable ball mount. I'm going to show you how it replaces real quick. All you have to do is slide it in, line up the pinholes, and then insert your pin and clip.

Once you have that done you're ready to get back on the road with your Curt adjustable ball mount. That's going to do it for today's look at C45800.

  • Parts Needed to Use 2-5/16" Hitch Ball with Curt C45059 Adjustable Shank
I have a solution for you, but the Curt # C45059 has a slightly different hole orientation than a typical weight distribution shank. For this reason, you would only be able to use the parts designed to work with this Curt shank-you will need to use the Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount # C45802 and Replacement Tri-Ball for CURT Adjustable Ball Mount # C45800 to give yourself a complete adjustable ball mount. This would be the only available solution for that shank since it was designed...

  • How to Add a Ball Mount to the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank
We do have something that will work for your application! It looks like you have the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank # C17100 so to use a ball mount you'll need the Replacement 2" Receiver # C45802 and I recommend using the matching Replacement Tri-Ball # C45800 to wrap up your ball mount system. The two pieces I mentioned above are replacement parts for the Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount # D900 which takes a few pins and clips to all stay together so I recommend picking...

  • Can a Ball Mount Be Used In Place of the Tri-Ball On the Curt Multi-Ball Ball Mount
I do have an option for you but the Replacement 2" Receiver part # C45802 does not accept a standard ball mount. It only works with the Replacement Tri-Ball part # C45800 which when combined with the Replacement Shank part # C45059 would give you the Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount part # D900. In other words, you cannot use a standard ball mount in place of the tri-ball on the Curt Multi-Ball Ball Mount. If this is not what you are asking please just let me know. If you are looking...
