Which Load Range 5.70-8 Tire for 1500lb Pop-Up Camper
Question:
Should I replace the 2 load range B trailer tires with load range C? 5.70 - 8 4 lug. My pop up trailer weight is closer to 1500lbs

Expert Reply:
A 5.70-8 load range B tire has a capacity of 715 lbs, which is 1430 lbs per pair. If the weight of the trailer exceeds that amount, then you'd want to go with the load range C, with a 910 lb capacity (1820 per pair).
Even if the weight of your trailer doesn't exceed the capacity of the load range B, I'd recommend going with the higher load range. If you just need the tire, go with part # AM10012. If you wanted a wheel/tire combo, use part # AM30140 which is a 5.70-8 Load Range C tire on a 8 inch steel wheel with a 4-on-4 bolt pattern.
The # AM30120 wheel/tire combo you referenced use a 5 lug wheel, which won't work for you if your current wheel is a 4 lug.
