Although we don't offer a universal rack system for your 2004 Optima, we do offer an inexpensive custom fit option from Inno that work great for you. The rack would be assembled using the following two parts:
• Inno Square Crossbars, part # INB127
• Inno Roof Rack Foot Pack, part # INSUT
• Vehicle Specific Clamp Kit, # INK146
Thule offers a great bike rack that would be compatible, part # TH598004. This rack would hold the bike by the wheels and the frame, so there's no need to remove the front wheel like with a fork mount rack.
Malone offers a foam block canoe carrier, part # MPG152. The carrier includes bow and stern tie downs, but you might also be interested in the Malone T-style Hood Loops, part # MPG308. The loops are closed into the hood and trunk, and provide a secure attachment point for the tie downs so the metal hooks on the tie down won't scratch up the vehicle.
The roof rack itself has a 165 lb capacity, but you'd be limited by the capacity of the roof, if it's lower. You'd want to check with your owner's manual or with Kia about the roof capacity.
