Can ST235/85R16 Tires be Used in Place of LT235/85R16 Tires on a Horse Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a 2008 Exiss 3 Horse trailer with living quarters, the tires that are on it are LT235 /85/R16 load range E tires, that is what the manufacture has on the plate also, tires are wearing funny and need to be replace what do you recommend for a replacement tire, also I pull the trailer with a 1999 FL50 Freightliner with air ride suspension and maybe that is why the tread is wearing funny, Thanks and hope to hear from you soon

How are the tires wearing? Inside tread, outside tread, center tread? That could indicate other problems. If the trailer is not being towed level that could also be a factor. The air suspension on the truck wouldn't be a factor especially if the trailer is being towed level.

An LT tire indicates a light truck tire. ST stands for special trailer. You can use ST tires on your horse trailer. Trailer tire # AM10295 is an ST235/85R16 rated for 3,640 pounds at 95 psi. I have included a link to our informational article on trailer tires for you.
