Recommended Hitch for a 1999 GMC Savana Short Bus

Question:

I have a 1999 gmc savana that is a school short school bus.....I am guessing it is wider than normal and I am having a hard time finding a trailer hitch to put on it. I need something to carry a 100lb generator on the back....maybe an adjustable rv hitch? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Robin

Hey Robin, I would be happy to help! You are indeed going to need to go with a universal hitch but that's ok because we have a few bolt on ones and it gives you more flexibility.

I've got two options that will work great with the frame on your bus. Which one you need will be determined by how far down your bumper extends from your bus's frame. You'll need to take a measurement from the top of the frame rail to the bottom of your bumper to determine how much drop you're going to need to have with the brackets. I have listed the two hitches below:
