How are the Derale Adapter Fittings # D13018 Installed and Used to Install a Transmission Cooler

Question:

I have a 07 Silverado with a 4.3L V6. I believe I need these fittings but do not understand why there are two. I see one is a male and one a female. I assume the male adapter threads into the radiator where the supply hot fluid enters after I remove the existing line? I then attach a rubber trans hose and feed to inlet on cooler? Not sure where the other included adapter goes. Do you have a video showing where these are used? THanks

The male end of the Derale Radiator Adapter part # D13018 that you referenced does thread into the outlet side of the factory cooler in your radiator. The female side of this adapter would thread onto the male side of the coolant line that you removed from the factory cooler.

I realize that's probably hard to visualize so I attached a diagram that shows how both sides of the adapter are used.

I also attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers, plus a video of one being installed. The exact same adapter isn't being used in the video, but it gives you a rough idea on how a cooler would install.
