Attaching Hose to Transmission Lines When Installing Transmission Cooler on 2005 Chevy Suburban

Question:

I understand the snap in adapter goes into the radiator and connects to the new rubber hose for the transmission cooler. For the hose leaving the new cooler and returning to the old hard line, how is the connection made? This is for a 2005 chevy suburban 5.3L

Expert Reply:

The hose from the aftermarket cooler would simply slip over the flare on the end of the line that was removed from the radiator. There will be enough play in the line so that it can be moved back from the radiator. Make sure you slip the hose onto the line far enough so that the flare will prevent the hose from backing off the line once its secured with a hose clamp.

I have linked you to some FAQ articles about transmission coolers that you might find helpful.
