Replacement Brake Assemblies For a 2022 Keystone Cougar 22MLS Travel Trailer
Question:
The Dexter Never Adjust Brakes 3,500 axle P/N 23-468-469 shows as compatible with a 2022 Keystone Cougar 22MLS. My 22MLS is equipped with 4,400 lb. axles and brakes. Are the 3,500 lb brakes identical to the 4,400 brakes in terms of fitment and stopping power? In other words are 3,500 and 4,400 lb brakes cross compatible. Thanks and I appreciate it!

With your 2022 Keystone Cougar 22MLS having a 4,400lb axles and brakes you will want to use either the Dexter 4,400LB Brakes # K23-478-479 or Lippert 4,400LB Brakes # LC66WD depending on who manufactured the axles under your Cougar.
The Dexter 3,500LB Brakes # 23-468-469 you found while being able to be installed are not constructed as durable as the higher capacity components. This means the stopping power and longevity will not be as good as with the higher capacity units. Our fit guide for campers can sometimes show these irregularities since not all RV manufacturers will use the exact same parts on every camper they build. This is the reason you do not see manufacturers having an online parts guide like you see in the automotive sector.
