In order to have brake connectivity between your 2014 Jeep Patriot and your trailer, you will first need to install a 4-way connector such as # 118552. The T-one connector plugs directly into your Jeep's existing wiring. I have included installation details and a link to a installation video.
You will also need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. The brake controller installation kit includes everything necessary for converting your 4-way connector to a 7-way connector. I have included a link to a helpful article about the brake controller 7- and 4-way installation kit.
Next you will need to install a brake controller like # 90885 in order to activate the electric brakes on your trailer. I have included a link to the installation details and an installation video.
