Recommended Extended 2" Ball Mount to Lower Tail Gate w/ Trailer Connected
Question:
Do they make a longer version of this cushioned ball mount. I would need at least 12” from the pin to the ball so my tailgate opens without hitting the trailer jack. This unit is only around 9”.

Convert-A-Ball does not make a longer version of the item # AMSC2 cushioned ball mount but I do have one that will give you enough clearance to open your tail gate. It is the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitches item # BM20. This ball mount measures 13-1/4" long from the center of the hitch pin to the center of the hitch ball. It has an identical capacity and the rise drop is the same.
The Brophy Ball Mount item # BM20 is not cushioned and there isn't a cushioned one available for the length you are needing.
For a compatible hitch ball you will need either a 2" Hitch Ball item # 40038 or a 2-5/16" hitch ball item # C40007.
