Will 10" x 2-1/4" Brake Assemblies Fit 3k Axle on 2013 Jayco Swift SLX 184BH
Question:
I have a 2013 Jayco Swift Slx 184bh The trailer has 1 1/2inch brake shoes with 3k axle. Will I be able to bolt on an upgraded 2 1/4inch brake assembly.

The brakes you have now and 10" x 2-1/4" brake assemblies like the # AKEBRK-35-SA share the same bolt pattern. So technically yes, you could bolt it onto the brake flange on the axle. However, your hub and drum assembly is going to have the same 10" x 1-1/2" dimensions as your brakes so the larger brake assembly won't be compatible.
Your 3k axle won't have bearings that match a 3,500 lb axle so you can't switch to a hub and drum like the # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K you were looking at. Unless you want to replace the entire axle, it would be best to stick with the same size replacement brakes and get the Dexter # K23-472-473-00.
