Wiring Headache Rack Lights To The 7-Way Of A 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500
Question:
Do you have a pigtail harness for a headache rack that can be installed on a 2021Chevrolet 3500 with a trailer and gooseneck factory package? GM has done something to their wiring that does not allow the led lights to be powered without some sort of resistor on the 2021 models.

Expert Reply:
To alleviate your headache rack issues you'll need to pick up some resistors with part # DI34ZR along with a 4-pole pigtail like part # 002220. You'll splice the resistor into the wiring for the headache rack and then splice on the 4-pole pigtail and can run it out to your 7-way and use an adapter like part # 47405 to plug in. I recommend using some heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10 to properly seal your connections and prevent corrosion.
