Adding a Trailer Hitch Receiver to a Bike Rack
Question:
Can I add a receiver at the of the rack?

I would not recommend adding a receiver to the end of the Swagman Original Towing Bike Rack, # S64675. This bike rack comes with a hole that allows you to add a hitch ball with a 3/4 inch diameter like part # 19256. If you want a 2 inch hitch ball, then you can use part # 19258. Adding a receiver would likely void the warranty on the bike rack.
If you want to add a receiver because you need more of a drop or rise to tow your trailer level, then I recommend using a multipurpose ball mount like part # D210. This provides an upper receiver for a bike rack and a lower receiver for your ball mount.
Before loading your bike rack or mounting your trailer, it is important to find the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle. The tongue weight of your trailer and the weight of the loaded bike rack must not exceed the tongue weight rating of your vehicle. This information can be found in your owners manual or on an identification sticker on your trailer hitch.
