Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2008 Chevy Express Van with Cutaway Chassis

Question:

I have a 2008 Chevy Express cutaway van short schoolbus. I’m looking for a 2” hitch that fits. The frame has four vertical holes to bolt a hitch. I understand has to be determined to clear bumper. Interestingly, I can’t find measurements of the distance left and right in your listings to ensure the holes will line up. Please suggest products to help me sort out fitment. Thanks. I’ll be towing a 3000 pound trailer.

For your application I recommend checking out the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch # 5350 which can fit frames up to 24" - 46" wide and has bolt holes that measure 8-5/8" apart on center (see attached).

All of the custom fit hitches for a 2008 Chevy Express Van won't fit the cutaway chassis which is why you need to look into more of a universal fit like this. The mounting brackets for this hitch are adjustable to fit different applications so you'll need to make sure this works for your application.

To complete your towing setup I recommend installing the Curt Wiring # C59496, an extra length of 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1, some Butt Connectors # DW05745-5, and a ball mount kit like part # EBMK4.

Attached are some videos for you to reference.
