Aluminum Vertical Bunk Brackets and Stainless Steel U-bolts for Boat Trailer

Question:

I bought a new boat trailer for my heavy 26 Shamrock Mackinaw. I modified some large beams to accommodate the curve of the haul and height of the stern so now I need to replace the L-type brackets. The trailers crossmembers are 3x3 aluminum. The stock L-type brackets are only 6 galv. with galv. U-bolts. I would rather use aluminum brackets with SS U-bolts, but Im worried about strength. I am also worried about corrosion if I used new galvanized brackets and my galvanized U-bolts. I need 4 - 8 and 4 - 10 brackets, carpets and bow support. Thank you in advance for your expertise

The vertical bunk brackets do not have a weight capacity rating. You should be fine with the aluminum, but if you are concerned about the strength then you can stick to the galvanized steel the manufacturer used.

- Replacement CE Smith Vertical Bunk Bracket # CE10161A40 (8")

- Replacement CE Smith Vertical Bunk Bracket # CE10162A40 (10")

- CE Smith U-Bolt - Stainless Steel # CE15503A

We do have bunk carpets and bow support options as well, without knowing what size bunk boards and what bow support you need, I have listed some options below:

- CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting for Bunk Boards # CE11330

- Yates Y-Style Bow Stop for Boat Trailers # YR7Y44-4

- Bow Roller Assembly w/ Bells # YR450BLK-400BLK
