How to Install a 4-way Connector on a 2006 Nissan Frontier with the Oem Connector Cut Off
Question:
I bought the cable to plug directly in to OEM trailer plug, when I went to install I found out someone had cut the OEM connector off. Can I get the OEM plug and at what cost? If not, what is the color scheme to hook to flat 4 pin connector. I would prefer to put back on the OEM plug to restore to original. Thank you very much

Without the connector there it would be very hard to determine what each wire does, we do not have a wiring schematic available so your best option would be to use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 and test the wires individually for function while someone applies the tail light functions of your tow vehicle. Check out the video I attached to get an idea of how this would be done.
You would then need to run those wires by function to the 4-way.
I attached an FAQ article on trailer wiring for you to check out also.
The 4-way wire colors are typically:
White-Ground
Brown-Tail light
Yellow-Left turn
Green-Right turn
The only way to get the OEM connector would be to contact a Nissan dealer.
