Troubleshooting New 7-Way Trailer Connector Reverse Circuit Activating Trailer Brakes
Question:
My pickup had a 7 and trailer had 6 way,change out the trailer with 7way, both bringers work,both tail light good, break lights works, Every thing work like it suppose too. Change out connector on trailer with connector core and junction box. Every thing work find drove down road everything find,got ready to back up brake locks up free when going forward set when backing up

It sounds like when the 6-Way Cord # 50-61-108 on the trailer was changed out for the 7-Way Cord # H20046 the reverse light wire that never went to anything on the trailer now is sending power to the trailer brakes. You will want to check this connection in the Junction Box # 38656 to ensure that it is not terminated to the brake wire or shorting to the brakes.
