Trailer Hitch Receiver With 2 Opening For a Spare Tire Carrier On a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek
Question:
So I’m trying to get a tow hitch installed and the one Subaru can install only fits 1 1/4 inch. Is there a adapter I can use to make it a 2inch so I can put a tire mount on the back? If not what else can I do

I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76209 on your 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. This will give you a 2" receiver that you can use a spare tire carrier like the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125. This carrier allows you to easily move the spare tire so you can still open your rear lift gate.
Using the Adapter # HTAD will reduce the receiver capacity by 50% making it more difficult to use another accessory with your spare tire carrier due to the weight limitations of the 1-1/4" receiver.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 will allow you to be able to tow small trailers that have a 4-way flat connector. It can also be used for Auxiliary Lights if you have a hitch mounted accessory that impairs the view of the tail lights on your Crosstrek. You can secure the 4-way using the Mounting Bracket # 18144 to the tab on the receiver for easy access.
