It sounds like you are trying to get a 7-way connector installed on your 2012 Nissan Frontier. For that you would use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118266. This kit plugs directly into the factory connectors on your vehicle. Additional vehicle wiring is not required. You can pick up the Hopkins Universal Mounting Bracket for 7-Way # HM48625 and the Curt No-Drill Bracket # C57202 to mount the 7-way to your hitch.
If you are doing this to use a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR which will install using the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED39FR.
If you are also needing the ability to use a 4-way connector, you can use the Pollak 7 Pole to 4 Way Connector Adapter # PK12716 to adapt your 7-way into a 4-way.
