Does The Vehicle Battery Need To Be Disconnected To Install Redarc Brake Controller On 2019 Tacoma?
Question:
Do I need to disconnect the battery before installing the Redarc Elite brake controller in a 2019 Toyota Tacoma Pro
asked by: Lori S
Helpful Expert Reply:
You will not need to disconnect the battery on your 2019 Toyota Tacoma Pro if your truck came with the factory tow package. Since the factory tow package will allow you to use the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED99FR to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR you will not need to disconnect your battery.
If your Tacoma did not come with the tow package and you will be hardwiring in the Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR you will need to disconnect the battery.
The Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-002 will allow you to mount the controller knob in one of the accessory ports on your Tacoma for a clean look.
