Comparing Kenda and Transeagle Tires for 5th Wheel
Question:
Dear customer service, I’m looking for advice on tires for my 2020 grand design reflection 303rl. I currently have Factory OEM Westlake tires manufactured 2018. Size, SST235 80r16. Trailer weight is approximately 10,000 lbs, loaded max. 11,900. They have given me good service but because of age, and our plans to take a long trip out west, I have decided to replace them. I was initially looking at the Kenda Karrier, but when hauling around a trailer company, recommended the trans eagle 14 ply tire. So my dilemma is, even after researching online. Is what would you recommend? I know you sell the Kenda Karrier, I can’t find a lot of dealers for the trans eagle. Look forward to your response, sincerely,

I recommend going with the Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 Load Range E # AM10248 over the Transeagle alternative. I know it might sound like I'm being biased because we carry the Karrier, but when I was comparing the tread on the Kenda compared to the tread on the Transeagle, the Kenda has more grooves and breaks in the tread which means it will be more effective at dissipating water when the road is wet.
The Kenda Karrier also comes with a 5 year warranty while I didn't even see a warranty tab on the Transeagle website.
I'm sure the Transeagle performs just fine but I don't have any experience with them so those are the major differences I saw (the Transeagle does have a higher weight rating but that doesn't really carry as much weight in this comparison since both tires are rated higher than the 5.2K axle that they normally install on).
Attached is a review video of the Kenda Karrier for you to check out.
