Parts Needed to Add Electric Brakes to a Trailer without Brakes
Question:
I would like to add brakes to this trailer. Its a 3500 Dexter axle I believe with 5 on 5.5 hubs right now. In a perfect world Id love to end up being able to bolt Jeep 5 on 5 wheels right up to the new hubs but Im worried about the center hole of my wheels not being large enough for most trailer hubs. Your form wont allow an attachment of a photo of the axle, backing plate and hub so here is a link to it.

Unfortunately your pictures are not working, but you provided me with enough information that I can make a recommendation for you. There are a few different parts you will need to add brakes to your trailer that has a 3500 lb. Dexter Axle.
Brake mounting flange (which your axle already has), Spindle which we know because you told me you had a 3,500 lb. Dexter axle, Brake assembly (listed below), Hub and Drum (listed below), Trailer wiring (listed below), Breakaway Kit (listed below) and a brake controller (listed below).
-Brake assembly: Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469
-Hub and Drum: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles # 84557UC3
-Trailer wiring: Hopkins 7-Way RV Style Connector with Molded Cable - Trailer End # H20046, Trailer Wiring Junction Box # 38656, Ring Terminal # 44-5310A, 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1 and Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05745-5.
-Breakaway Kit: Dexter Trailer Breakaway Kit # 34-285.
-Trailer Brake Controller: Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 (this will connect to your Yukon with either the included splice in wiring or you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3015-P if you have the tow package)
This would give you everything you need to add electric brakes to your trailer that does not currently have brakes. I have also included a help article that goes over all of the parts needed for this.
To address the 5 on 5 Jeep wheels you want to attempt to put on your trailer, we do not advise that you use wheels intended for a passenger vehicle on a trailer. But if you are wanting to do that you would need the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84556UC3 which would be 5 on 5 hubs.
