Comparing EcoHitch to Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I am looking to add a hitch to my 2022 Outback. I was looking at the Curt and the EcoHitch. What are the differences aside from the price?

It can be hard to tell the differences between the EcoHitch # EH34FR and Curt # C67JR aside from the different appearance where the two mount. Both hitches are Class III with a 2" receiver, and they both have the same maximum trailer and tongue weight capacity.
One main difference, aside from the price you mentioned, is the installation process. Although it is similar, the EcoHitch replaces the bumper beam on the back of your vehicle. The Curt installs behind the bumper beam. Another difference is the material. The Curt has a fully welded steel construction while the EcoHitch uses an alloy made of recycled materials and combines aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. The EcoHitch is also made in the USA.
I would recommend the Curt # C67JR since it is the more economical option and will serve the same purpose. If you like the idea of a hitch that uses recycled material then the EcoHitch is still a good choice.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend also getting the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467. This plugs into existing wiring and will give you a 4-way connection at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. If you need a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
