Parts Needed to Install a 7-way on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon, I don't have any wires at the back and need a 7-way connection back there. When I go to the wiring section I only see 4-way connectors, how do I get a 7-way? I need the 7 way because I want the 12v circuit back there.

You can absolutely get a 7-way connection at the back of your 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon. The reason you are only seeing 4-way adapters is because your Outback Wagon does not have factory wiring. So essentially you will need to install a 4-way flat like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat # 118467. You would then use an adapter like the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole # 37185 to get the 7-way. But because you mentioned needing the 12v circuit you will be better off using the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L instead of the # 37185. The reason for that is because the # ETBC7L will come with the wiring needed to complete the 12v circuit.
If you are in need of a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This is going to give you a brake controller that activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action.
