Does the Prodigy RF Brake Controller Need 12 Volt Power in 7-Way to Work
Question:
I have the C56154 wiring harness installed in my journey. Im looking at the 90250 brake control for my brake controler. I wired the 4 wire in to a 7 wire plug when I installed the harness. Will the 90250 operate with just the 4 wires in the 7 plug or would I have to run power wire from the battery in to the 7 wire plug to power the TK94FR brake controller?? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

The Prodigy RF brake controller # TK94FR requires 12 volt power and the brake light signals to function in the 7-Way in order to work. On the 7-Way you have there should be a black wire which will be for 12 volt power. Using about 25 feet of wire # 12-1-1 (sold by the foot) attach one end to that black wire, route the wire under the vehicle, avoiding areas that can pinch or burn the wire such as suspension and exhaust components, and up into the engine compartment over near the battery.
Under the hood mount a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540. The wire you ran will connect to the AUX post. Another length of wire will run from the BAT post to the positive battery terminal. I also recommend wiring kit # HM51020 which comes with various connectors and devices to secure the wiring under the vehicle.
