Recommendation for WD Hitch with Sway Control for Keystone Outback Travel Trailer 298RE
Question:
I bought a 2012 Keystone Outback 298RE and will be towing it with a 2018 Silverado 1500. The trailer specs are 7443lbs dry with 795lbs tongue weight. Other forums say same model loaded they get 8500lbs total weight with 875lbs tongue weight. My 1500 has 5.3L Ecotec with 3.42 gears double cab 4x4 trailering package not MAX trailering package. Specs are 9200lb max trailer capacity and 1250max tongue weight. Not much cargo - wife and I and two small dogs plus supplies. Im thinking a system rated for 10K and 1000lb tongue weight would be a fit. Never towed anything this heavy before. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Correct, a 10K system would be a great choice for a Keystone Outback Travel Trailer 298RE. I recommend the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17500. This is a complete system that comes with everything you need. It has a pre-torqued hitch ball and built-in sway control. It also features a bolt-on install with no drilling into the trailer required.
