Determining Correct Ball Mount For 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Towing 2010 Casita Spirit Deluxe

Question:

I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a class IV trailer hitch. What would you recommend for the ball mount hitch for this model? It has a 20” hitch height. I pull a 2010 -16’ Casita Spirit Deluxe but I don’t have the coupler height because it is in storage at this time. I hope you can help even though I lack the information. Thank you P.S. I have a Trailer Valet that I use and am very pleased with it.

I would be happy to help, but without the hitch height of your 2010 Casita Spirit Deluxe 16' I am unable to make a specific recommendation.

You will first need to determine the coupler height by leveling the trailer and them measuring from the ground to the bottom of the coupler.

If the number you get is less that 20" (The hitch height of your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo) then you will need a ball mount with a drop that matches the difference, and if you get a measurement more than 20" you will need a ball mount with a rise that matches the difference.

Without knowing the specifics of your trailer your best bet would be the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 as it includes two different ball mounts, one with 1" rise and 2" drop, and one with 3" rise and 4" drop which would allow you to make sure you can get your trailer level, and two different hitch balls.
