Hitch Extender For A Swagman XTC2 Tilt Bike Rack For 2 Bikes
Question:
Hi I have a 2015 Acura RDX with a draw-tite hitch from etrailer. We recently received a Swagman bike rack #S64671. When I put the bike rack into the hitch receiver to check the fit for our bikes, I noticed that the inside bike was very close to the hatch on the car. The pedal was within an inch of the rear hatch. My concern was that the bike would rub against the car while in transit. Does Swagman have an extension so there is more space between the vehicle and inside bike on the rack? If not, would you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

To extend your Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount Item # S64671 away from the hitch you can use a hitch extender.
For a 2" receiver I recommend the Hitch Extender For 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver 7" Item # HE06.
For a 1-1/4" receiver I recommend the CR Brophy Hitch Extender for 1-1/4" Hitch Receivers - 5-3/4" Long Item # hes6.
Note: adding an extension to your hitch will lower it's weight capacity by 50% so you will need to take that into account and ensure that it will still hold enough weight to handle the rack and the bikes safely.
