Recommended Roof-Mounted Cargo Box For 2020 Honda CR-V With Factory Crossbars
Question:
I have a 2020 Honda CRV with Honda installed cross bars no rails spaced at 26. Will the Stallion 288-09200 roof basket bolt to my cross bars. I was thinking of pairing the basket with the Rightline Gear Jr. cargo bag. Thanks

I have a roof-mounted cargo basket that will work for your 2020 Honda CR-V with crossbars, but the Aluminum Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 44" Long x 39" Wide x 7" Deep - 150 lbs # 288-09200 will most likely not work for you since it requires a crossbar spread of 17-3/4" - 24-3/4". If you can adjust your crossbars to 24-3/4" then it will work as long as your crossbars are not more than 2" thick and no more than 4-3/4" wide.
If you cannot adjust your crossbar spread then you can go with a different cargo basket such as Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 44" Long x 40" Wide - 165 lbs # Y07138. This has similar dimensions but fits a roof rack with a crossbar spread of 24" - 32.
The Rightline Gear Sport Jr. Rooftop Cargo Bag - Waterproof - 10 cu ft - 36" x 30" x 16" # RL100S50 will work well with either cargo basket and will do a great job of protecting your roof-mounted gear from the elements. You could also look into Curt Stretchable Cargo Net - 38" Wide x 44" Long # C18200 to secure any loose gear to the cargo basket. I have attached demonstration videos for you to check out regarding these products.
