Will the Hands-Free Liftgate Feature Work With a Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Ford Escape
Question:
Would this negate the foot sweep power gate operation?

Expert Reply:
Installing any aftermarket trailer hitch on your 2013 Ford Escape will not completely eliminate the use of your Hands-Free Liftgate feature, but it will limit the sensor areas to either side of the vehicle (see photo).
The Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch # 75758 that you referenced will fit all models of the 2013 Ford Escape
If you were planning on doing any towing, then you will need a few more items to complete your towing set up. You will need a wiring harness to power the lights on a trailer. For a wiring harness, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118566. You will also need a ball mount, hitch ball and a pin and clip. For this, I recommend the Ball Mount Kit, # 989900, that includes a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball, a 2 inch hitch ball, two ball mounts with different rises and drops, a pin and clip and a storage bag.
I have attached installation videos and instructions for the trailer hitch and wiring harness on a 2013 Ford Escape for you to check out.
