When tire chains are installed we recommend not exceeding 40 miles per hour (lower if the speed limit is lower). Also, some vehicle owners manuals state a specific speed when chains are in place so you will want to look at the owners manual for your 2005 Lincoln Town Car.

When I searched for a 2005 Lincoln Town Car through our fit guide Thule chains # TH01594240 did not come up as a fit for tire size 225/60-17. I have included a link to the chains that do fit that size tire. If you have a different tire size or vehicle please let me know and I can make more specific recommendations.

For ST225/75R15 tires you can use the Titan Chain Low Profile Tire Chains #TC1142. These chains are rated for both on-road and off-road use. Rubber adjusters like part #TCMA1 can be purchased separately to take out any slack in the chain.

I checked with Konig and tire chains TH2004705265 are rated for 50 kilometers per hour which is the same as 31 miles per hour. On a 4x4 vehicle it is better to put the chains on the main drive wheels which on a 4x4 is the rear set.
