Recommended Roof Vent With Remote For Truck Camper Shell

Question:

I am thinking about installing a power roof vent in my Lear fiberglass truck cap. I raise police k9 and have to transport in my truck built in kennels in the rear of the truck. I always keep the rear hatch open and the side sliding Windows but the heat still builds up. It needs to be powered since I cannot get to the area when the kennels are installed. I have been worried about co2 buildup when I am in traffic also.

For your Fiberglass Camper Shell I recommend the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote - Powered Lift - 10 Speed - White # MA00-07500K due to it being able to be controlled with a remote making opening the vent or turning on the fan an easy task.

The # MA00-07500K will require a 14" x 14" opening in the roof of your camper, and is designed for roofs that are 1-1/8" - 6-1/2" thick so if your roof is less than 1-1/8" thick you will need to use lumber to frame the opening to get the correct thickness.

You will also need to connect the # MA00-07500K to 12v power so using 16-Gauge wire # DW02359-1, which is sold by the foot, to connect to positive and negative terminal will be required.

Using the Roof Vent Installation Kit # 344270KITW with provide a weather-tight installation.

I included a video of the # MA00-07500K being installed for you to take a look at.
