Longer Thule Threaded Hitch Pin for 2 1/2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

Does Thule make a longer hitch pin for a 2 1/2inch receiver hitch? I purchased the Thule Doubletrac and with the use of a 2 1/2inch to 2inch adapter, the rack fits in the hitch fine but the threads on the hitch pin arent long enough to allow use of the lock washer. Any other solutions?

I have a solution but I reached out to Thule to check and found out that Thule does not make a threaded hitch pin that will work with your 2 1/2inch receiver. They also mentioned that use of an adapter or extender would void the warranty on your Thule Doubletrack.

Using the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2" to 2" Trailer Hitch - 7" Long # HR26 would allow you to use a standard hitch pin and clip like Tow Ready Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-1/2" Hitches # TR63253 to secure the extender to the trailer hitch receiver on your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Your Thule DoubleTrack can be installed on the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender # HR26 and secured with your threaded hitch pin. Using the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender # HR26 will void the warranty of your Thule DoubleTrac.

The only option to keep the warranty on your Thule DoubleTrac is to add the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65078 which has a 2x2 receiver to fit your Thule Doubletracd, and offers a 500lb weight capacity.
