Are Snow Chains Required for Both Wheels On a Dual Rear Wheel Moving Van
Question:
I need snow chains for a moving van that I will be driving. The tire is LT 225/75 R16 and the back tires are a doubles. Do both tires in the back need chains or just one on both sides? Any Help would be much appreciated.

You can use one tire chain on each side of your dual rear wheel van, however, I would recommend using chains on all 4 rear wheels, especially if you will be driving in areas with extreme weather. Using chains on all 4 wheels will provide more traction on snow and ice over using chains on 2 wheels, but using chains on only 2 wheels is acceptable.
The Glacier Chains Cable Chains, # PW1042, that you referenced are designed to fit the 225/75 R16 tire, however, these chains were designed for cars rather than trucks or vans and have a smaller cable.
If you wanted to look into dual rear wheel chains, I would recommend the PewagV-bar Snow Chains, # TC2819CAM. The V-bar chains will provide better durability and performance over the cable style chains.
