How To Pick Proper Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System Based on Travel Trailers Tongue Weight
Question:
I need help deciding on a weight distribution hitch please. I will be towing a travel trailer with a tongue weight of 685 per specifications. I am not sure what it will be with truck bed loaded and some things in the camper. I have narrowed to the Curt C17500 or Curt C17501. Do you have any advice? Thank you!

In order to get the properly rated system, you'll need to nail down the as-towed tongue weight.
The correct system will depend on the average weight of what you have loaded in the truck bed behind the rear axle plus the as-towed tongue weight of the trailer. The Curt # C17500 TruTrack is designed to handle tongue weights between 800-1000 lbs, and the # C17501 is designed for tongue weights ranging from 1000-1500 lbs. The system includes the 2-5/16 inch trailer ball.
I've linked you to an article that explains a few different ways to determine the travel trailer's tongue weight. We offer a tongue weight scale, part # e99044 which is a handy item to have.
