The trailer ball that you need is based off the what size coupler is on the trailer, the weight capacity and what size shank hole diameter the ball mount you are using has. For example, the Tow Ready hitch ball # 63845 is a 2" ball with 7,500 lb capacity and 1" diameter shank. You will also need a ball mount with the correct amount of rise or drop needed to tow the trailer level. I have attached a helpful link about how to choose a hitch ball and ball mount.
