How to Activate Non-Functioning 12-Volt Trailer Accessory Feed on 7-way of 2011 Ford Edge

Ford Edge 2011 - no B+ in 7 way trailer connector. Why ? Missing fuse? Where ?

I checked the owner's manual for a 2011 Ford Edge, and in the description for the fuse panels they list no information regarding the charge circuit to the trailer connector.

If you aren't getting power to the pin in the 1:00 position in the 7-way trailer connector with the ignition on, then the easiest way I can think of to fix it short of taking it to the Ford dealer would be to abandon the factory charge circuit and wire your own. Don't worry, this is pretty easy to do.

Find the wire that feeds the pin in the 1:00 position on the trailer connector, and trace it back about 6-12 inches. Sever that wire, and to the wire leading to the trailer connector, use a heat shrink butt connector like # DW05745-5 to graft in a length of 10 gauge wire, part # 10-1-1 that's long enough to run under the vehicle to reach the positive battery terminal. I'd add an extra couple of feet for good measure.

You'd run the wire under the vehicle, avoiding anything hot or moving like suspension or exhaust components. Following an existing wiring harness would be the way to go. A length of wire loom like # 7509-1 would be a good idea as well. Run the wire to the silver terminal of a # 9510 breaker, and attach the copper colored terminal to a short length of wire. Use ring terminals like # 44-5310A to connect to the breaker and a larger # 44-5356A ring terminal to attach the short length of wire to the auxiliary post on the positive battery terminal. Mount the breaker as close to the battery as possible.
