Is a Support Plate Needed When Installing Bulldog A-Frame Trailer Jack # BD1550101344

Question:

Im putting on the bull dog jack on my flat deck,Is it strong enough by just bolting it to the pre existing bolt pattern. On my cargo trailer there is also another piece of metal on the lower part of the frame with a larger hole for the jack to slip through. It looks to me its there to add some extra strengh to the jack for forward back and side to side motion. Do I need to do that on my flat deck..?

It would be a good idea to add a support plate, like # BDSPB50, when installing A-frame jack # BD1550101344. The plate can be welded or bolted on. This plate fits on the underside of the trailer. The jack will then bolt into place.

If you need a foot use # PS1400700340 or for a wheel use # PS1400750340.
