It is permissible to use tires chains on both the front and rear axle of a 2012 Ford F-150. That said, you must use class s type chains according to the manual which simply means they provide the most clearance. The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2323 are what I recommend as they are class s rated and have a diamond pattern which will provide better traction than the ladder style chains like the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams part # TC2828CAM which are not class s rated. Furthermore, the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains are very easy to install and one of my favorites because of this reason.
Please note, the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains only fit models with 235/75-17 and 255/65-17 tires. If you have 275/45-22, 275/55-20, or 275/65-18 tires then you need part # TC2327.
