Swivel Trailer Jack with a Wheel for a 2007 Viking Pop-up Camper

Question:

I have a 2007 Viking Pop up camper. The welded on wheel jack broke off, very cheap design. Can I replace with this type of bolt on Swivel Jack? Can I mount on either side, left or right? Is this 1600 rating lb sufficient for the weight? Its about a 14 foot camper.

The Fulton jack, # F1411300301, is a weld-on application and you will need mounting bracket # P9012-00. The mounting bracket is the part that gets welded to the trailer frame. Any welding should be done by a qualified professional welder.

It can be mounted on the trailer near the coupler (where the tongue weight is lowest) anywhere you have space. A 1500 pound capacity can handle a tongue weight of 1500 pounds. It is very unlikely that any pop-up camper will have a tongue weight that exceeds 1500 pounds.

For a bolt-on swivel jack, it is going to depend on the frame dimensions on the trailer. If the trailer frame measures 3 x 4 inches, I recommend the Fulton F2, # F1413040134 with a single wide wheel for added support. This jack has a capacity of 1600 pounds.

For a trailer frame that is up to 3 by 5 inches, you can use the Dutton-Lainson jack, # DL22800. This jack has an 8 inch wheel and capacity of 1500 pounds. Either of the jacks listed above can be mounted anywhere you have space.
