Hitch to carry mobility scooter and carrier
Question:
Is the c12115 suitable for a 2018 Cadillac XTS, a 75# carrier and a 100# mobility scooter using a 2inch to 1 1/4inch reducer for connecting the hitch and the carrier? What is the vertical clearance under under the car or at the back edge of 30inch carrier plus the added 6inch length of the reducer?

The Curt # C12115 is a fit for your 2018 Cadillac XTS, and without knowing anything about the carrier you'd be using, I'm not able to tell you what the vertical clearance would be. However, the issue you're going to run into is that my research tells me that the 2018 Cadillac XTS actually has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 100-lbs; this would mean that carrying 175-lbs on a hitch mounted cargo carrier is not an option. It should also be noted that using an adapter like the # HTAD to use a 2" cargo carrier on a 1-1/4" hitch receiver would reduce the tongue weight by 50%, so even if you were able to utilize the full tongue weight capacity of the Curt # 12115, you'd still be right at the limit of what won't damage your vehicle.
Your Cadillac XTS does have a towing capacity of 1000-lbs, so in order to carry a mobility scooter you would need to use a light weight trailer like the Detail K2 # K2MMT4X6. This trailer weighs in at around 350-lbs so you would have no issues towing it with your mobility scooter loaded on.
This option will also require a 4-pole wiring harness for the trailer's lights. I recommend using the # 119250KIT since it is the easiest to install and requires no cutting into your vehicle's wiring system. You will also need a ball mount # C45017 and 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # 19256 for a complete towing package.
