Does the Optronics LED RV Interior Double Dome Light with Switch Require a Fuse

Question:

I have two high power wedge style 2835 led lights that I would like to install which use 12vdc, 3 watts a piece and probably .25 amps with 18 AWG. My question is, dont these lights have to be fused with an inline low amp glass fuse for protection? The power is coming directly off a 12 volt marine battery.

I cannot speak for all trailer lights but if you are referring to the Optronics LED RV Interior Double Dome Light with Switch part # RVILL34 then you would indeed want to use an in-line fuse if wiring the lights directly to the battery. This would then protect the light in case of a short. The Spectro 16-Gauge Mini Fuse Holder part # SWC9544 could be used to provide circuit protection for this light as well as most other trailer lights. The 16 Guage Primary Wire part # 16-1-1 could then be used to run the power wire from the light to the fuse holder and then from the fuse holder to the battery.
